Amabs weren't forced to become as anal about this stuff as afabs. most amabs I know where told basically nothing about hygiene.
Even the small things like a patch of dry, red skin on your nose or split ends on your hair will be picked up on and it will hinder your passing.

i smell like an ash tray because i regularly smoke cigarettes. would you rather i try to cover it up with perfume? some of the shit gives me migraines.

No perfume can't cover up bad smells. It only mixes with the bad smell to create a super bad smell.
Perfume also makes me feel sick.
I associate smoke smells with masculinity but there are tons of girls who smoke too. Smoking is bad and gross to most people but it's up to you if you can and want to quit.

but you have a really good point about hygiene maxxing. Just stuff like basic skincare eyebrows and haircare is enough to make you seem "pretty" unless you are genuinely deformed

my routine

daily shower (most relaxing part of day)

clean up eyebrows every 2ish weeks

wash face with water twice a day

spf moisturizer

shampoo and condition about every 3 days

brush hair if starts to look to messy or flat. Also helps if greasy at just roots

wear clean clothes.

I was feeling regret at not transitioning (I don't have dysphoria was just seething with jealousy at t4t couples and don't give a shit about gender) earlier but it's comforting to know that when I was young enough to transition I was also way too much of a strict rules follower to not get hondosed anyway.

whether you keep your bathroom/living spaces in general clean and how concerned you are with how other people perceive your personal hygiene in person are two different things. women will let their living spaces become absolute pigstys (unless they have guests over) but will die if they get caught without deodorant once.

I shower every other day in winter and daily in summer (estrogen). I also regularly check my butt to make sure I don’t have swamp ass. I smell good.
