No it hasn't. The trend has actually gone in the direction of less height over time ever since the 1990s when Gen X became adults, at least in the US (which you're presumably from since you're using inches). Even when only looking at non-hispanic whites.
I think because generations had been getting taller up until relatively recent in history it made a lot of younger people mistakenly assume the same would be true of their own generations.
Some countries like South Korea where they were less developed not too long ago continued having height gains.
But most developed Western countries peaked in the 90s when Gen X became young adults.
Most Gen X men reproduced (including the short Gen X men) so no eugenics driven height gains were had. And nutrition has only gotten worse since the 90s, so no new nutrition height gains either. Plus obesity epidemic didn't help with height. And then if you count immigrants and racemixing you of course get an even more obvious downward trend in the latest generations' heights.

height is a symptom of lower hormonal levels in puberty. which ever hormone you get locks in your height. it means they had weaker puberties so they grow like bean sprouts as their body isnt properly signaling when to stop. often times they look lanky.
