It was a really bad political move for leftists to take on trans people, since it only exhasperated the issue, since it's hard to convince people to look at history and in only your oversimplified way that's designed to foster guilt in order to attain social action, but it's even harder to convince people that what they think a women is, isn't. To them, it's worse than cherry-picking a political tool to guilt trip people out of history. It's about crafting a political tool to guilt trip in the present.
