B/W is still v much old formula Pokemon just with some slightly nicer graphics and one or two gameplay changes. But also the story in B/W feels slow until like midway through or so, especially since iirc the main like climax of the evil team subplot happens around the time youre doing the elite four, rather than the usual Pokemon thing of it being a sideplot that you deal with around midway through.

Nono Kanji is what's actually used for words you obviously still need both Kanas memorized to do anything at all in Japanese but you need to learn Kanjis for words
Basically the jp on old pokemon games instead of using Kanji just gives you the furigana which is how you say them but displays them as hiragana, it's like something so lobotomy core not even kids books do it

Of the (3)DS pokemon games I think I liked X/Y most, the music was really good in that game. Soulsilver + Diamond + B/W I like a lot also though, but mostly because I played those games growing up so nostalgia
