Can you be lgbt and religious?

can you be lgbt and religious?

I'm christian and a chaser

i’m a catholic doll
but that vid is weird, transphobia isn’t a sin unless it’s actual hate. jesus never said if treating gender identity disorder with transition is the right or wrong thing, like i don’t think being a tranny is a sin but if ppl do that’s in their right to believe, we simply don’t know

yes. there are also lgbt nazis

Ann Lee was the founder of the Shakers, a radical Protestant sect that opposed procreation and all sexual activity.

A lot of asexuals are that for religious reasons.

Yes. Though there is some bad blood between some Christians and Queer people for obvious reasons even though the Bible itself isn’t against homosexuality.

Going by christianity loving trannies as women is not a sin, fetishizing them as males is. Also fucking her without being married.

I’ve definitely been attempting, but it isn’t easy. My personal faith is strong but the churches here in Arkansas aren’t too open to gender

being religious and trans is retarded
religion IS anti-progressive, it gives people an excuse to oppose new social ideas and therefore it reinforces the current social hierachy.
Christianity and Islam have both been used to justify crusades, slavery, class imbalances, anti-suffragism, executing homosexuals and prohibiting transsexuality.
"bububuu jesus preached love and acceptance!"
Yeah and every single person I've known who has converted to Islam or Christianity became a massive bigot around the same time.
When the Pope says "we should show kindness to everyone" he's not being progressive, he's simply playing catch up to the last 50 years of social progress, meanwhile Christian organisations in the US funnel billions into anti-trans propaganda all over the anglosphere, and Orthodox bishops encourage Christians to spit on homosexuals

It’s retarded because they’re basically occupying the same space in your brain. Trandom is just a new age religion (disclaimer:for most, if you r offended just imagine you’re the exception)

Most idealogies are basically religions nowadays, liberalism, communism, fascism, nihilism, absurdism, utilitarianism, and I can certainly see why "trans idealogy" could be a religion for some

but here's the difference, christianity and islam were concieved over a thousand years ago, in terms of knowledge, humans were closer to the garden of eden than they were to modern humans
That's why "religion" is retarded, it's obsolete, it can only play catch up with modern ideas. Just look at how Islam, Orthodoxy and Christianity have all grown in accordance with the domestic politics of their host countries.

Ya

i'm a Catholic transgirl but i wish i were more religious

I feel like I’d rather be trapped on an island with a devout Bronze Age religion enthusiast than anyone into modern idealogical religion. The problem is information access didn’t keep pace with those religion’s ability to adapt to scientific knowledge so now we don’t have anything good to replace them with to satisfy the little faith part of our brains that developed so we would stop killing ourselves after we figured out the futility of the life cycle u_u

Woah same

We love our fellow Catholic dolls, don’t we, folks?

Yes, most religions have nothing against LGBT - Christianity and Judaism have accepting sects and Hinduism and Buddhism have nothing in their beliefs that are anti-LGBT

I'm already a fag (been op on many a occasion) and I've got the Jesus stick on my chest, blessed by a hat guy that was really chill too. Good reminder to be an ass less often.

yeah I agree with unironically, modern idealogical religions are outdated and I feel like we're overdue for a new idealogical revolution. I honestly think the rise of right-wing nationalism in the anglosphere, the horrors of islamic extremism coupled with declining faith in the islamic word, combined with the internet and the advent of artificial intelligence (and other technologies) are going to bread new idealogies, just like how the industrial revolution and printing press and various Christian schisms were the breeding grounds for the 19th/20th centuary Oreligons"

do you seriously believe that brainscan is evidence?
you sure that's not just because people are engaging in cognitive narration during prayer?

yes you can but ancient religions are nonsense

No but I believe the my own evo psych armchair that when our brains became sufficiently complex enough to understand natural law we ended up engaging in risk-taking or depressive behavior when faced with the futility of the lifespan. The ones who survived to breed were adapted to pushing these notions aside by supplanting them with a higher hypothesis to the deeper nature of existence through narrative and imagination, which made life bearable.

Which is why chimps don’t have stories and gods but we do.

tfw too smart for sex

Jesus don't love me, hates me even.

Sure, if you’re a cuck

Im so glad ur still here but you’re still so mentally ill lol

You can be but probably not one of the Abrahamic religions. Would probably have better luck with Buddhism or Hindu beliefs because even if being trans is negative points to your after life it isn’t like the end of the world, you can always hope for better next go round.

i've met religious lgbt people, but personally ever since i studied physics i realised that the universe is governed entirely by physical laws that can be known through experience. i don't think there is any room for a god in causation, and what reason is there to believe in a god that cannot affect the universe in any way? my perspective is that people believe this stuff essentially because it makes them feel better about life. as a trans person i went through a lot of suffering when i was a teenager, but it was weirdly comforting for me to know that there was no cosmic force coming to save me, that i was on my own and the best i could do was try and stop the same from happening to other people in the future.
i hope i never become religious, i think i should believe what i know is true and not what i want to be true. i guess i'd call myself a humanist, but that isn't really a religion.

God is only comforting if you're miserable
I'm an athiest (for similar reasons to you) and I despise my life, I feel tortured by own mind constantly and I wish I could just leave this planet and never return

Believing that there's a God would make me so much happier because my suffering would have meaning, there'd be a narrative and I could be assured that someone is observing and understands the complex intricacies of my life. Instead it feels like I'm a rational being who's at the mercy of an irrational world, there's no narrative, there's no story, there's just me, strapped to a cosmic conveyer belt, axiously hoping that the chaotic and unfeeling forces of the universe deliver me to a positive future, while I watch people all around me end up in blenders or tubs of acid instead... in a way this "cosmic machine" is a God to me, and it's utterly horrifying, it's the antithesis of everything that the Human instinct hopes for

i'm a southern baptist and a closet troon

i understand how you feel. the universe is cold and uncaring but at the same time i think in a sense quite beautiful. i like the idea that we are all tiny parts of a natural process whose scale we can barely comprehend. we live and we die like flowers in a garden, but the garden remains. it reminds me of this poem, i think keats wrote it knowing he was about to die

poetryfoundation.org/poems/44484/to-autumn

i don't think it's true that without religion life can have no meaning but that the task of creating it is a human one. the burden of reducing the evil and suffering faced by future generations is really placed on humanity, there is nothing beyond the universe that can intervene and do it for us. i personally am optimistic about the future, i think really most people (who are not too affected by religion or kantianism) generally agree on what is good and evil. if the average person fully understood what trans people go through i think they would support us. i guess the problem is ignorance.

Idk but I've fucked catholic priests and a rabbi. It seems like they can just ignore the parts of their religion that they don't agree with.
