It's not, it's literally the easiest thing ever, you don't need to memorize almost anything, everything is intuitive, it's elegant. Reducing abstraction is inherent in humans, so much that our brains are hardwired to group up to 4 objects instantly, coupled with our logical brain and a bit of understanding we could derive the entire theory of math again even if we lost it.

I am a math tutor, and every single time someone doesn't understand math is due to having terrible professors.
When I entered college it seemed as if I had been taught wrong my entire life, I had to learn all the basic rules from the beginning.
The main problem is that for some reason, the educational system has divided math into levels, wildly changing the fundamental rules.

Infinite is not a number but a concept, dividing by zero is the gateway to calculus, if instead of being taught that some things can't be done just because it is difficult to explain them they did all they could to explain the concept of limit to kids, then we wouldn't have these many people scared of math.

i've gone through phases where i was either good or bad at math depending on my teachers. i would imagine it's a lot easier to learn now that ai has gotten good at math and good at explaining stuff? Khan academy was good until i got to college where it got too complex and specific
