I'm saying the reason most black women don't keep their natural hair is that they don't keep their hair in locs/dreads. Natural curly hair is not seen as feminine, at the very least not nearly as much as straight hair. If your hair is in locs it is functionally, visually, very similar to straight hair and so makes you look more feminine, unlike natural curly hair.

oh i understand now thank you for explaining. do braids work the same way as locs/dreads? i’ve seen pretty braided hair too. and it can look very feminine imo. i would imagine so since the same thing, it won’t look curly in braids.

I am a natural hair girlie :( I don't think locs or braids would really suit me. I sometimes wear a wig but I haven't found one I really like yet.

I'm half mexica though so my hair is more like a 3a or sometimes a bit straighter if I don't condition every day

Just make sure your levels are good and exercise, sleep, and eat well. I'd probably could have been far better off if I didn't waste 2 and a half years doing DiY with no blood tests

no idea, as I'm not into that hair scene. I just heard it referred to as japanese semi permanent hair straightening. obviously damaging your hair is bad. how come nobody has made a crispr or mrna therapy to get straight hair? wigs disgust me on a visceral level. I like to smell the hair. the only black woman I was with, she straightened her hair, and didn't wear a wig. I really enjoyed that. she was a lot of fun.
