I am OBSESSED with eyeshadow, I wish I could wear it...

I've tried makeup at home but I just feel bad since it makes me look worse
eyeliner is the worst, it's literally impossible to get right

I wasn't trying for a look I was just trying to apply it properly but idk how people do it
it's why I think the only reason cis women can do makeup decently is because they have years of practice from childhood

Meant the type of eyeliner look, or shape, if you will. You cant learn how to apply it properly if you dont know which shape your aiming for. Tight lining your waterline with a pencil is probably the easiest place to start tho

If you’re going to put either a metallic or really dark smoky eyeshadow on top it actually makes for a decent base. Anyway the point still stands, you kind of need an end goal to stop fumbling

Girl you don’t HAVE to use a pen, is the thing, you can use a brush or stamp if you want, there’s so many options. Also i dont really know what you mean by “the place” anon, like where are we talking on the eye right now

also I can't even properly work out where eyeliner usually rests on the eye, I just know I can't get it low enough

The ones to the right are easier to use than other application methods imo, but it’s quite subjective. Most people do better if they rest their arms on something while doing it, btw, just in case you havent tried that. You can stabilise your lines further by gently holding your lid in place with a finger and keeping your eye open for most of it.

Oh yeah and if you want true easy mode you can do it with one of those brushes and a dark eyeshadow instead of regular eyeliner. You can also put a strip of tape by the side of you eye to avoid going too far

A less annoying (but also less fail safe) method is placing a dot where you want the middle, top, and ends to be, then following those when drawing

right that makes sense and it might help since my main issue is I just can't get it lower enough, I still think I'd screw it up though

i sent a bad picture a second ago sry it was dark but do eyeshadow thats like as light as or a little lighter then ur concealer i think u will look more approachable, its eye *shadow* after all so if its lighter its less of a shadow because how light works right? maybe? worked for me, also picrel is a bit cringe it wont help you

Being blunt with you I really do think it has to do with you trying to apply it aimlessly, same as with anyone else picking up a new skill: if you dont set goals for yourself you wont know what to study. If you dont know what to study, your only resource and feedback will be yourself, which wont take most people very far.
