A high-profile TERF activist who accused trans women of suspect activity, has been arrested for molesting several children. She also called one of the children a transphobic slur despite the child being cisgender. Numerous other TERF activists defended her in 2022 when she was first arrested but she has now been found guilty of the crimes.

it's all happening here in edinburgh... jk rowling's name is on the cafes, the terfs are tonguing lolis, this is where contra and toob met! and then there's me. on the more positive side, there's a lot of chinese students in the uni here, and quite a few trans and queer ones too. they've set up a whole society. i've been pretty impressed with the campus activism they do, both using a western uni as a place where they can be more vocal about the situation in china, and involving themselves in local issues here.

Two reasons. So people in 'protected classes' can have their crimes minimized to prevent inconvenient truths from spreading; and people NOT in 'protected classes' can be condemned in the court of public opinion by allegations and innuendo, even if their actual behavior doesn't warrant such treatment.

As to whether the woman in OP is truly evil, who knows? I see a bunch of allegations and testimony from people who would have hated her in the first place. Kind of reminds me of the Duke lacrosse case, or the soap-and-lampshades stories...

Murray is a prominent domestic abuse campaigner and set up the Brodie’s Trust support group that advocates for women who have lost babies through domestic violence or forced termination.

She set the group up after suffering a miscarriage and introduced a petition to create an offence that enables courts to hand down longer sentences for violent domestic abusers who cause their victims to lose their babies.
