I never fully understood this. pre transition cis girls are the primary thing on the menu but once you break away from that its the opposite despite gender preferences possibly never changing. I guess in some ways its like, gender affirming kinda, but idk, for how inclusive modern lesbian culture is you'd think non chaser/fetishizer t4c dating would be more common

Pre transition you were seen as a straight/bi man, the expectation of women of men is often for you to support them through college, or if they're already working, to have a sense of safety knowing that if they lose their job they can be housewives depend on you because you're the man. Marriage materializes this expectation into a responsability you must fulfill (in sickness and in health yada yada). If you're a woman you now have as much to fear in terms of financial stability as them, or likely even more due to being trans, that's a dealbreaker for them, why fall in love when there's no assured future there?
