All the female characters in HP were wildly unlikable shrews - you could really sense her disdain for female-kind, I suppose Professor McGonagall was portrayed as nice - but she was sorta more like a conduit for Hermione to learn magic spells she needed to advance the plot and Hermione was the smartest character in the book but extremely unlikable and huffy and moralizing.

That said I feel like Hagrid was the only likable male character (main).

The books were progressive 30 years ago. JKR was a decently progressive for a time, even if she was cringe. She either developed toxic views or always had toxic views narrowly about trans people that weren't politically relevant until recently.

Hermione was specifically as unlikable as possible and I feel like she's the biggest window into the mind of JK cuz Hermione is effortlessly smart and the best at magic despite being a mudblood (just like JK felt she was smart despite not being of noble birth) but everything she does is largely unappreciated and she's not especially sympathetic she's just sort of a nag and a plot device
