Excuse me while I cause an entire generation of trannies to repress in shame while simultaneously being praised by cisqueers as if I did a good thing. Haha.
Excuse me while I cause an entire generation of trannies to repress in shame while simultaneously being praised by...
what the hell does that mean?
Erm actually repressing was never that common, our current numbers are simply inflated by cisrepressing trenders.
This shits incomprehensible af
TIM curry mogs me desu
zoomers solving a captcha to signal their confusion instead of just googling the movie they don’t know
The information superhighway everybody
it means Tim Curry slays in a cringe way but normies eat it up
I watched it full length actually. Idk why it's considered tranny culture, can we praise otokonoko anime or something pretty instead
i wonder if this movie played a role cobain killing himself
Ywnbao
One can dream
this hurt me so badly and I couldn't even explain to myself let alone anyone else why because I was so deeply repressed and it didn't make any sense that it would be so uncomfortable when everyone else had so much fun with it
tim curry mogs every one of you faggots so hard it's actually hilarious
I agree, it's basically just a troonjak caricature that cis people see as empowering, because fundamentally they just see trans women as crossdressing men.
What? Almost every trans person I know ftm or mtf loves Rocky
Shit as teens and young adults half our dating market were Rocky bi people
Rocky Horror ironically made me think more positively about transsexuals.
If anything rocky horror let more people at least be freaks of the night when they otherwise would've been stoned for dressing and acting a certain way.
sounds great for freaks of the night, but normal trannies are rightfully creeped out by it.
Do you just look for reasons to bitch?
Rocky horror is queer cinema history, just like Pink Flamingos and Paris is Burning
I hate to be a gatekeeper but desu you're probably a babytranny if you think this shit didn't have a positive impact on queer culture especially back in the day
For me, it was one of my first exposures to alt cultures outside of basic Christian conservative and online right-wing weebs. So while yes, I don't agree with the Doctor's lifestyle and behavior and don't want to be him, seeing him strutting around and having fun at least made me feel a little bit better about my feelings on my gender. From that point I felt okay empathizing with transsexuals rather than thinking they were all evil so I had to rep. Which is ironic with how the man acts in the movie, but whatever.
major repfuel for me as a kid in the 90s. like "wow so this is a transsexual huh i definitely don't wanna be that"
cisqueers try not to conflate tim curry in garters or dragqueens with me transitioning- challenge level: impossible
i havent seen this one but thats every queer movie / representation for me
i saw the tv glow
pose
white lotus
they are all cringe rep fuel
picture goth dylan mulvaney in full clown makeup singing and dancing about being a slut. that's rocky horror
i saw the tv glow
I've never seen this one but a lot of people seem positive about it?
Actually it is, especially among MTF. Even today average age of transition is ~30.
incredibly out of place takes. NEET trannies weren't a thing back then and most queer rep was through villainous characters such as ursula or comic relief. it wasn't made for (you)
Which is why it's bad representation for those of us that just want to blend in and don't feel connected to queer culture.
it's transmasc and HSTS culture
gynephiles could never understand
LET'S DO THE TIMEWARP AGAIN!!!!!
It's just a hop to the left
And of course I'm sharing this too. And people wonder why trannies repressed when this was our only representation
youtu.be
While that sounds fun your fantasies have nothing to do with Rocky Horror
God it's so obvious who the shut in incel->trannies are here
If you're a millenial LGBT person and hung out with alt people or other LGBT people at all you most likely enjoyed this film at the theater with a shadow group
During the 00s all the queer kids I worked with at a concert venue would pike into cars and go see Rocky Horror. In college a huge part of my friend group was into it too. I feel a little silly admitting it but I still organize at least one big group trip with my friends even though we are all in our late 20s and early 30s around Halloween
Do jeeps really not understand or appreciate camp?
hey i fucking love rocky horror, meatloaf's in it and by that standard it's good by me
I don't think any of these zoomies here have seen it or even know what it is, that's why all you ever hear here is 'why didn't you get the turn yourself into a girl kit at the vending machine in the school lunch room like I did, it's easy!'
HRT should not be given to children under the age of 45
To be fair it's broadly enough these days to be a pretty nebulous term. Personally I'd define it as the frisson that occurs when something straddles the line between the ridiculous and the sublime.
pretending to like bad movies to show how kweer I am
The obvious actual correct take: I think it was a positive thing at the time, but by the 00s we had progressed beyond it to the point where rather than only flashy gender non-comformity and the occasional tragedy, plenty of trans people wish we had grown up with also having nuanced, less villain-coded representations of trans people living equivalent lives to their peers in society. The movie is fine but it gets misused a lot, when I was coming out as trans 15 yrs ago I did get a lot of "supportive" Gen Xers literally saying "Oh you're a tranny? Like Tim Curry in Rocky Horror? That's so cool!" And given I was early into estrogen and suicidallt dysphoric "You look like a crossdressing man I like" was not what I needed.
The comments are the real blackpill
you don't like my campflick millenialslop? YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND TRUTRANSSEXUAL CULTURE YOU 'JEEP INCEL NEET ZOOMER!
lmfao
Uh the film isn't millennialcore, it was already old when they were kids.
pretty sure rocky horror was boomercore
millennialslop is what millennials like regardless of date
Yeah but I think they liked stuff like RENT more, with regard to queer culture.
Nobody likes RENT compared to this
and then a step to the riiiighttt!!!
