For the new stuff, Eternal > 2016 any day of the week.
as for classic doom: the best parts of Doom (mainly the first episode) are better than most of Doom II, but Doom II has good stuff too. Out of the two other episodes included Final Doom, TNT Evilution is boring, and The Plutonia experiment is very good but also insanely hard and not fun unless you're really good at the base stuff already. The extra episode released in 2010 with the XBOX 360 port of Doom II, No Rest for the Living, is apparenly very good, though I've not played it. Same goes for Legacy of Rust, the new episode released with the Doom + Doom II.
And Doom 3 is kinda its own thing, just a story-heavy and slow early 00s horror game, definitely an allright experience, just not very Doom.
