Well we don't diagnose we basically train the person that maybe throwing their own shit against the wall is a bad thing. Basically teach them appropriate behaviors and skills to help them in their daily lives. Some BCBAs work with kids, others with adults, and some just strictly create behavior plans and never work directly with a client.
It's a pretty demanding job but I'd say if you are someone who can empathize with others well then it could be a good career choice.
