Ultimately, every form of government is a cartel. To have the benefit of social cooperation, we need to organize; to organize we need roles, and one of those roles necessarily has to be an executive to arbitrate decisions, which is going to join with the theoretical best at making decisions.
Whether they are any good for the governed is a separate matter. I have questions about democracy, or democratic republics, more precisely. Its artificial and not found anywhere else in nature, and is the easiest to corrupt because it has so many moving parts that eventually serve themselves. It seems to present the appearance of representation but the nature of the system, or human nature if you prefer, is to simply exploit its function as a cartel.
By comparison, monarchy, or an extension of tribalism, is found everywhere. It holds together a culture and tradition, or customs that dont need constant policy re-evaluations. If it is malevolent or incompetent, it fails just like republics through sheer math; the governed outnumber the government. But it also can be benevolent, or at least competent. All the worst potential is built directly into the system, the cartel, and rather than slowly become corrupt and dysfunctional as a certainty, it expresses that incompetence or corruption instantly with each iteration of a successor, and can be reversed as quickly.
So if we must bear government to gain the benefit of social organization as we must in competition with others who will at our peril, then it is not clear to me that democratic republics are the optimal model.
afaik only ancient athens applied direct or true democracy. modern democratic nations are actually republic models. i dont know how the parliament systems work but i assume theyre the same as representative democracy

We would still need governments to facilitate mutual aid, distribution of goods/resources to individuals, and equitably settle disputes between communities.
The government could be autonomized and democratized to a point that priveleged person of power wouldn't be needed to fill the role.
Again this is not something that happens in even a few lifetimes, it is a theoretical endgame.

Personally I prefer the Democratic Model of the Venetian Republic where there is an open aristocracy and they have the vote. Mainly there is a set group on top based on merit however, the aristocracy is open-sourced wherein depending on a families' good or bad actions they can be removed or added to the Libro d'Oro (The Golden Book), that way you get to keep the dynamism and competition for merit of the Republic but retain the eugenics and stability of monarchies.

You asked about gold coins with a short hair oriental or Devon Rex. It was maddeningly difficult to find comprehensive information on this coin series. And the mint that made them closed around ten years ago.
But I was able to find the 1992 Siamese and 2015 Selkirk Rex, a distant relative of the Devon Rex. They were the closest I could find without real competence in feline breeds, although I did check a list to vet through all the ones known to have been minted.
If it does interest you, you can find more affordable coins in each of these series in gold 1/10 ounce increments that are less costly, though they are difficult to find. I should also add that these are more for collecting, not stacking, as selling them would be more difficult and likely incur some loss of premium to only spot value.
However if you are still interested, I would recommend their silver counterparts, as 1/10th ounce gold coins are too small to appreciate the design, whereas a full one ounce of silver is as large as the gold ounce where you can see and appreciate the design.

Like I said before, it's the loopholes the higher ups and officials make. If you have a population that is educated and well informed, then you should have the majority of smart people making decisions when they vote; While at the same time hearing every opinion and being able to pool all knowledge to make the best decision if everyone's voting. But politicians are allowed to lie and misinform. They can tell you that academics, college and being educated are bad because that is an opinion, even if it's wrong. There has been a movement to make the masses more easily manipulatable. This has led to stupid people becoming poor leaders.
