In a lot of cases you have to be the right kind of person to actually be in their space, otherwise you're not taken very seriously or are only there to be treated like shit. This goes for both cis men and cis women. If you're too weird or marginalized you're no longer one of them, and it's free game. A lot of people seem to have this old idea that women don't engage in Japanese media despite entire sections of it being designed for and marketed at women. It's a pretty old idea, women love their female-targeted manga and anime, and make up a sizeable component of certain videogame genre communities (RPGs, life sims, farming games etc.) FFXIV, which both of you talked about, is a game popular with both women and transsexuals, in addition to men obviously, so while yeah you kinda out yourself as a stereotype by talking about playing it, it's not 'un-feminine' if you do play it.
