Blocking testosterone is used for prostate cancer specifically because 1) its a kind of cancer that's not only accelerated by testosterone but also dependent on it and 2) removing the prostate is one of the most surprisingly complicated and difficult surgeries there is and usually isn't performed (also tends to leave you sexually crippled if you do have it done).

Serious question, I'm not that anon above you but who is the oldest transgender person who started hrt at a young age? I've read that Christine Jorgensen did HRT and died of lung cancer at 62 but everyone smoked back then so it could've been that. I'm interested in starting hrt and hate being a masculine guy but I don't want to do it if it'll kill me.

Yes because I have been in therapy since 12, the psychs couldn't help you with dysphoria back then. They would misdiagnose you and get you started on pills that have negative side effects. Therapy helps when you want to complain about life or family, but it can't fix a "sexual health condition". Hrt is the key.
Dysphoria is an effect not a cause. There’s a plethora of things that can cause it. You don’t even need body dysmorphia according to the diagnostic guidelines. You can look like a linebacker and love looking like a linebacker and still have it. You can have gender dysphoria targeted towards genders that don’t exist. The human psyche is vast and the autistic rigidity needed to win ebin internet arguments is not and has not been beneficial to anyone’s mental health.

This was well known already though? HRT has been known to increase risk of cancer for a long time. But if just increasing the risk of cancer was enough to ban something than half the medications people take would be banned.
